Rain house rules

Every special card has alternatives. Pick one per card before the match.

Set them on Profile → Preferences → Rain Mode before you start; every match you create uses them, and your opponent sees them before accepting. See Preferences.

King of Spades

  • Classic — the next player draws 4.
  • The Tax Collector — two random cards from your hand are swapped with two random cards from your opponent's.
  • The Executioner — your opponent is silenced for 2 turns: no 7s, no King of Spades, no Jokers, and no answering a penalty.

Queens

  • Classic — change the suit.
  • The Gossip — see your opponent's hand for 5 seconds.
  • The Diplomat — cancels any penalty waiting on you, of any kind, with or without stacking. The Queen's suit stays.

Sevens

  • Classic — the next player draws 2.
  • The Contagion — your opponent is infected with the 7's suit: until they play a card of that suit (or a Joker), nothing else is allowed.

Jokers

  • Classic — the next player draws 5.
  • The Shapeshifter — the Joker copies the card underneath it, effect included.
  • The Shield — only for defence. Facing a penalty, play the Joker and it becomes the card that attacked you: a K♠ +4 goes back to your opponent as a K♠ +4. They must take it — no stacking it back. Only a Diplomat Queen still cancels it. Play continues in that card's suit, and a card of the same rank fits on it.
The Shield: a Joker shown as the King of Spades

How a turn flows

  • Penalty Stacking — pass a penalty on instead of taking it (see How to play).
  • Draw Until You Play — keep drawing until you find a card you can play, instead of drawing one.
  • Forced Play — if you can play, you must. You may only draw when nothing in your hand fits.
  • Multi-Drop — play several ordinary cards of the same rank in one turn. Tap the draw pile to end your turn.

Help on the board

Optional aids, also in Rain Mode: Suit Counter, Playable Highlights, Penalty Radar (their hand glows when they hold a penalty card), Auto-Shielding (a red dot on your counter-cards when a penalty comes), and warnings before a move you probably didn't mean.
