Your rating
What moves your Elo rating, what doesn't, and by how much.
Your Elo rating measures your skill against real players.
- Placement: your first 5 matches place you — 900, plus 40 for each win.
- After that, each match moves you by up to 32 points. Against an evenly matched opponent, about 16.
- Beating a stronger player earns more. Losing to a weaker one costs more.
- A resigned match is a draw: no change.
- Matches against the bot never change it.
| Opponent | Win | Loss |
|---|---|---|
| 400 below you | +3 | −29 |
| 200 below you | +8 | −24 |
| Evenly matched | +16 | −16 |
| 200 above you | +24 | −8 |
| 400 above you | +29 | −3 |
Real gaps are rarely round, so expect a point either side of the table.
